Dane DeHaan is going from playing a crazy poor kid to a crazy rich kid. For those of you that have yet to watch him in Chronicle then you should really do yourself a favor and see it. He easily stole that movie and his performance should give you a glimpse of how great he should be as Harry Osborn.
So far the casting for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has been good but there is still that lingering rumor of Jamie Foxx playing Electro out there.
So it appears Jamie Foxx has confirmed that he will in fact be playing Electro. Here is a direct quote from the Oscar winner (I still roll my eyes when I type that)
”a genius electrician-type person and he gets the short end of the stick from the whole world… The next thing you know, he turns it on.”
Electrician-type person….dude. I am so looking forward to Django Unchained but you have got some work to do on getting people to believe in Electro.
Well this is….interesting.
The new Man of Steel poster went online yesterday and it certainly adds more questions to the movie and that’s a good thing. I am glad that I don’t know a lot about this movie yet. Leave it to Christopher Nolan to be the only guy in Hollywood that can still keep some things secret (at least longer than most can). Now let’s just hope that Zack Snyder can actually have Superman you know….fight stuff.
You have to admit that Henry Cavill sure does look the part. Where Brandon Routh looked like a modern Christopher Reeve playing Superman, Cavill seems to give the character a different edge. So far, I like.
Damn Bryan Singer. It’s like you are trying to make up for leaving us to Brett Ratner’s wrath in X-Men 3.
I really should have written about this yesterday but had to write an article about it on NerdRating.com and couldn’t find the time to get it done. But here we go!
Bryan Singer, I love you even more today than I thought possible and that’s with full forgiveness for Superman Returns. Not only are Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan returning to the X franchise but now it seems like Hugh Jackman is getting set to join the party too. “The Jackers” (that’s what I call him cause we’re so close) just hung up his claws on The Wolverine but now seems to want to suit back up and get in all the Days of Future’s Past fun.
This movie is getting a bit on the large side and I mean that in the best way possible. Days of Future’s Past is one of the greatest X-Men stories ever told and it looks like it will be getting the treatment it deserves.
Don’t cock it up.
Just when I think we are going to have a normal day without any kind of weird Episode VII or Justice League rumors….WHAM!!!
HitFix.com has started a rumor firestorm today by saying that there is word floating around that DC is looking to jumpstart their Justice League movie as early as this summer with Man of Steel and that may include a cameo from Batman himself. Not only that but the Caped Crusader would be played by none other than Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Yeah, let’s rewind a tick.
Zack Snyder has been pretty adamant during the filming of Man of Steel that his movie would stand alone and that he had no involvement with DC’s plans for a Justice League movie but in a New York Post interview recently the director has become more coy about the possibility that his Superman is the one we will see in a big screen Justice League adventure.
“Um, how can I answer that? I can’t really say anything to that, because that’s a big spoiler. I will say, yeah, they trust me to keep them on course.”
In Hollywood speak Snyder basically just said “Yeah, we’re trying to figure it out as we speak.”
So now we come to today and HitFix’s sources saying that Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be playing Batman in the JL movie and not just that but they may be trying to fit him into a cameo in Man of Steel like Marvel did with Nick Fury in Iron Man. Maybe you would think that this would excite me being a huge JGL fan and all but exactly the opposite actually.
Let Nolan’s Bat trilogy stand alone. Even the director himself has said that the trilogy was “his” Batman. How the character was more than just a man, it was a symbol. The Justice League movie is something completely different. You need Bruce Wayne as Batman. To not have that in what may be the biggest gamble your company makes on a movie is folly. Imagine if you went to see The Avengers and instead of Tony Stark you had Sam Goodwin, random other guy who took over for Tony while he was off on a bender or something. Cool action bro but where’s the real Iron Man?
Look, DC can do this right. I have faith they can. There is no need to connect to Nolan’s Bat films. Batman is like Bond, actors apply at the desk. May the best man win.
Welcome home Bryan.
Sorry I missed this with Disney buying the world over the past few days but what do you expect?
Bryan Singer has officially signed on to take Matthew Vaughn’s place in the director’s chair for the First Class sequel, X-Men: Days of Future’s Past. Honestly it was a bummer when Vaughn mysteriously dropped out but Fox did the right thing in bringing back the guy who made the X-Men work on the big screen in the first place. Hopefully he will channel his inner X2 and not his inner Superman Returns.
Next time don’t announce something like this on the same day that the biggest deal in geek history happens.
Director Matthew Vaughn has decided not to direct the sequel to X-Men: First Class. This comes as some shi**y news for people like me who really wanted to see what he could do with the script of the movie which is reportedly based on Chris Claremont’s classic story Days of Future’s Past. The flick already has a summer 2014 release and all the cast coming back (including Michael Fassbender FTW) so now the race is on for a new director. Good luck finding someone like Vaughn for the project.
Seems that 20th Century Fox is banging on Bryan Singer’s door to come in and replace Vaughn.
I feel a little bit better now.
Ok internet, you are normally right on with certain things. How could you let this happen??? How can a movie be this far along and we have not learned all of its secrets yet? How are we as viewers and (sometimes) trolls to keep the integrity of the dirtsheets up if something like this passes everyone by?!
So you know the whole new Wolverine flick that has been filming for the past few months? The one where the shots of Hugh Jackman would make any of the warriors from 300 cringe at the diamond cutting ability of his abs? The sequel to the horrid X-Men Origins: Wolverine…..wait nope. Wrong. Completely false.
Yep. Director James Mangold told Empire Magazine that The Wolverine picks up after Brett Ratner’s sh** storm X-Men 3. Which now brings up the bigger question. Are Patrick Stewart and Famke Janssen’s supposed return to the X franchise via cameos in either The Wolverine or X-Men: First Class 2 the first steps in 20th Century Fox getting the X family back together for a new movie since the studio is wanting to have all of their movie characters (X-Men, Fantastic Four, Spider-Man) in one combined universe like Disney has with The Avengers?
I just hope The Wolverine is a good movie. One where Silver Samurai is not some put together Frankenstein with blades in his arms and optic beams. Lookin’ at you Ryan Reynolds.
So thoughts on the just released trailer for Shane Black’s Iron Man 3:
– I already love Ben Kingsley as The Mandarin. The one thing the Iron Man films have been lacking is the one, true big bad and that looks like it has changed.
– Iron Patriot FTW!!
– The look of the movie is darker which is a welcome sight (and no its not because everything should be like The Dark Knight, please everyone stop with the comparisons already).
– How badass does the Stark house blowing up look???
– This trailer is already better than Iron Man 2.
Iron Man 3 is out on May 3, 2013.
If you couldn’t tell from the massive watermark on the picture, Entertainment Weekly has given us a first look at Ben Kingsley’s evil turn as Iron Man’s main baddie The Mandarin. With the first trailer set to release tomorrow there have been a steady stream of pictures from the movie including a good shot of Iron Patriot.
So what say you? How does Kingsley come across as Tony Stark’s nemesis? Yes he is not Asian but Kevin Feige has said that The Mandarin does not have to be Asian for the way they are telling his character in Iron Man 3.
Check back tomorrow for the trailer.
Yeah so Kia may not have the best name in cars but this is Batman inspired car designed by artist Jim Lee is a thing of beauty.
DC partnered with Kia to turn this Kia Optima in into the ultimate Bat-ride to be showcased in the Time Warner Center as part of the company’s “We Can Be Heroes” campaign which raises money to fight hunger in Africa. I don’t know about fighting hunger but this car is fighting the image that Kia is a joke.
